I earned my degree in art history and anthropology from Brown University. I also earned my master's in public administration from Troy State University and hold a doctorate in botany from Duke University. I additionally hold credentials in gemology from GIA. As for tutoring, I'm adept at helping students with algebra, math, biology, English as a second language, writing, essay editing, literature, college essays, study skills and organization, earth science, environmental science, physical science, public speaking, life sciences, ecology, homework support, science, and English. I've worked with college-aged students as well as high schoolers, in both classroom and online education. My teaching philosophy is based on incorporating innovation with fun to create an engaging learning environment.Outside of the classroom, I spend time writing fiction. I'm also interested in an MFA or MS in publishing. I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, hiking, writing, reading, laughing, and studying gems and minerals. I also love being around animals. I currently reside in Newberg, Oregon.
