I am a sophomore at George Fox University. I am a Political Science and Biblical Studies double major with a minor in Education. My concentration with my Education minor is in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have a 3.95 GPA and took the AP track through high school. I graduated high school with 4s and 5s on my AP exams. I also graduated with a 32 ACT score.
Experience
I have tutored in my local high school and I am also a member of a peer to peer program at Fox which helps students both at Fox and in the surrounding school district. I also have taught English classes before to speakers of other languages. I have experience in a classroom working as a 4th grade intern so kids of any age are no problem! I love them all! My ACT score was a 32 and, during my senior year I took AP Environmental Science, AP Comparative Government, AP US Government and Politics, AP Calculus, and AP Literature. I received a 5 on my Environmental Science test, a 5 in Comparative Government, a 3 in AP Calc, a 4 in AP US Government and Politics, and a 5 in AP Literature. I would love to be a tutor because my education experience hasn't always been an easy one. School is something that does not come easily to me so I have had to learn how to work hard for the things I want. However, learning those lessons young helped me so much. Today I am an aspiring scholar who would love to help younger students who are encountering similar problems that I had.

My name is Samantha but all of my friends call me Gracie for my middle name. I am originally from Traverse City, Michigan and moved to Oregon last year when I began classes at George Fox University. I am an avid hiker, reader, athlete, and listener of music. During high school I pushed myself quite hard, completing my course work in time to graduate early as well as do a year abroad with Rotary's prestigious International Youth Exchange program. While abroad I studied five languages as well as started an English tutoring program that continues today. It was the experience of a lifetime and one that constantly continues to humble me. As a college student I have struggled a bit finding my place. It would be a lie to say that my freshman year was not a struggle but I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been presented with. The outdoors is a huge part of my life. I am an avid hiker and if I'm not in the library then you will usually find me out on the trails during most weekends. I am getting set for my first major solo hike this coming May on the John Muir Trail. The hike is 225 miles and will take around a month to complete. I can't wait! I would love to get to know you and/or your student. I am a firm believe that everyone is a learner deep down. School doesn't come easy to me and is something that I have to work for but I have been luck enough to experience the payoffs of that hard work.
